Kitren Fischer
A detail-oriented and fast-thinking lawyer, Kitren leaves no stone unturned when it comes to defending a case. Unafraid to take on tough cases that other lawyers shy away from, her tenacity and deep trial experience set her apart from other defense practices. Kitren is particularly passionate about defending children charged with delinquent offenses, helping to positively shape a young person’s life and get them back on track. She finds great fulfillment in exercising her clients’ constitutional rights and holding the State to its high burden every time, no matter how minor the criminal allegation.
Kitren started her legal career as an attorney at the Law Office of the Public Defender in Santa Fe, handling the cases of approximately two thousand indigent clients. From 2012-2021, Kitren was an attorney at Dan Cron Law Firm, P.C., a small but mighty firm with an impeccable reputation known for its zealous advocacy and for getting great results. Two of the most important things learned from her mentor Dan she continues in her current practice: to always exemplify high ethics, and to always be the most prepared person in the courtroom. Prior to co-founding Fischer Dorsey Law in 2025, Kitren led Kitren Fischer Law, bringing hundreds of cases to positive resolution.
Kitren Fischer is an AV Preeminent Attorney and is recognized by both Super Laywers and Best Lawyers, from which she was awarded 2025 “Lawyer of the Year” award in criminal defense: general practice. Kitren has also been recognized as a Stand-Out Lawyer for 2025 by Thomson Reuters. Kitren currently serves as a board member with the New Mexico Criminal Defense Lawyers’ Association (NMCDLA). Outside of her law practice, Kitren enjoys telemark skiing the local hills, traveling to Latin America where she can leverage her Spanish language proficiency, and attending bluegrass festivals.
